Before designing a new matrix-typeface, Ina made a computer program which gave essential support: it not only offered endless possible solutions but also modeled the whole process.
She trained herself to drill the computer, limiting its dominant stream of possibilities, forcing it to focus on what she wants: ideas of a certain type. Some of the results she used, others she simply threw away.
Perhaps in the future people are going to complain about abusing machines, misusing their innocence, so for the moment we should enjoy unspoiled machinated beauty as much as we can.
