Carstens' interactive thesis on the effects of modern technology on the human body is revealing itself while changing the main illustration. The menu of 'available' body parts (and their connected text paragraphes) refreshes after every intervention. In this way, the narrative is not only cut up but steered as well.

Carsten: "Body dysmorphic disorder is a serious mental disorder. Those who suffer from it hate certain parts of their body to such an extent that in extreme cases they constantly undergo plastic surgery.

Body dysmorphic disorder is also the title of this thesis, which deals with the effects of modern technology on the human body, focussing on a planned transformation of the interface between mind and machine as part of a new artificial evolution."
